Ola Kolehmainen is known for his large abstract architectural photographs which encourage the viewer to take a fresh look at the environment. Everywhere there is heart-stopping beauty. An exhibition of Kolehmainen’s latest works will be opening at the Alvar Aalto Museum in March.

Alvar Aalto Museum, Aalto University, Tampere University of Technology and the City of Seinäjoki are arranging a three-day Alvar Aalto Researchers’ Network Conference in Seinäjoki on March 12-14, 2012.

The 2012 Alvar Aalto Medal was awarded to Paulo David on Thursday evening, 2 February 2012, at the World Design Capital Gala at Sibelius Hall in Lahti, Finland. In the view of the jury, David’s architecture forms a convincing synthesis of contemporary and traditional architecture.

Rome, Catania, Genoa, Turin and Florence are just some of the Italian cities that have played host to exhibitions on Finnish contemporary architecture arranged by Arianna Callocchia. A native of Rome, architect, freelance journalist, and exhibition curator Callocchia visited Finland in late August/early September in her capacity as a journalist to participate in the opening of the Helsinki Music Centre.
