LINJA ARCHITECTS LTD is an architect’s office founded in 2006. Architects Teemu Fyrstén, Timo Koljonen, Ville Niskasaari and Esa Paajanen are joint partners. The company employs 25 people, 15 of which are university-trained architects. The firm has two locations in Oulu and Helsinki.
“All of the partners studied at the University of Oulu, so we have known each other and worked together as architects since 1992. Ever since our student days we dreamed about starting our own architect’s office, and in 2006 we decided to finally establish our own firm,” explains Timo Koljonen.
The firm’s work covers every aspect in the field of architectural design, with projects covering all phases of both new building and renovation design, in addition to land use design, city planning and various development plans. In association with their assorted projects, Linja Architects Ltd also provides interior design and environmental design services, among others.
Designs from Linja Architects Ltd have been featured in several professional journals in Finland and abroad. Over the last four years, the office has gained seven prize-winning awards in architecture competitions.
The firm’s customers range from public institutions, construction companies and businesses to private individuals. Linja Architects Ltd individually chooses the appropriate design methods and tools for each project in order to best meet the needs of the assignment and customer in question, providing BIM services as well as visualisation and animation services on several different software formats, for example.
Koljonen describes the firm’s working methods: “We approach every design project with an open and innovative attitude. In each we strive to attain a standard of superior quality, regardless of the scope of the project at hand.”
