The 13th International Alvar Aalto Symposium has invited an impressive group of renowned architects who will share their motives, sources of inspiration and methods in creating architecture. This year’s keynote speakers are Greg Lynn (USA), Hiroshi Nakamura (Japan), Henriette Vamberg (Denmark) of Jan Gehl Architects and Liu Xiaodu (China) of Urbanus. Other speakers in the symposium programme include e.g. Rahul Mehrotra (India), known for his ethical, human-driven projects, Carin Smuts (South Africa), who visited the Symposium in 2012 and who is hailed as an expert in engaging the community in the process of creating architecture, and Marcelo Ferraz (Brazil) of Brasil Arquitectura, with an in-depth professional knowhow gained through 30 years of experience in practicing architecture.
